Impact of dijet and D-meson data from 5.02 TeV p+Pb collisions on nuclear PDFs

چکیده

We discuss the new constraints on gluon parton distribution function (PDF) in lead nucleus, derivable with Hessian PDF reweighting method from 5.02 TeV p+Pb measurements of dijet (CMS) and D0-meson (LHCb) nuclear modification ratios. The impact is found to be significant, placing stringent mid- previously unconstrained small-x regions. CMS data confirm existence anti-shadowing onset shadowing, as well reduce uncertainties larger-x region. LHCb D0 data, reaching down x ∼ 10−5 derived a NLO perturbative QCD approach, provide remarkable reduction strong direct evidence shadowing. Furthermore, we find good description even zero transverse momentum within purely DGLAP-based approach without need for imposing any non-linear effects. Importantly, obtained are mutually fully consistent, supporting universality PDFs hard-scattering processes.

Prompt and nonprompt J/ψ production and nuclear modification in pPb collisions at √sNN=8.16 TeV

Article history: Received 22 June 2017 Received in revised form 19 September 2017 Accepted 19 September 2017 Available online 22 September 2017 Editor: L. Rolandi The production of J/ψ mesons is studied in proton-lead collisions at the centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair √sNN = 8.16 TeV with the LHCb detector at the LHC. The double differential cross-sections of prompt and nonprompt J/ψ prod...

Elliptic flow of charm and strange hadrons in high-multiplicity pPb collisions at sNN = 8.16 TeV

First measurements of the elliptic flow of prompt D0 mesons in comparison to KS, Λ, Ξ−, and Ω− hadrons in pPb collisions at √ sNN = 8.16 TeV are reported. The results are based on data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC and are presented for particles at midrapidity with transverse momentum up to 8 GeV/c after correcting for the contribution of back-to-back jet correlations. The results...

Exploring Vector Meson Masses in Nuclear Collisions *

The formalism developed earlier by us for the propagation of a resonance in the nuclear medium in proton-nucleus collisions has been modified to the case of vector boson production in heavy-ion collisions. The first part of the talk describes this formalism. The formalism includes coherently the contribution to the observed di-lepton production from the decay of a vector boson inside as well as...

an investigation of the impact of self monitoring on langauge teachers motivational practice and its effect on learners motivation

the central purpose of this study was to conduct a case study about the role of self monitoring in teacher’s use of motivational strategies. furthermore it focused on how these strategies affected students’ motivational behavior. although many studies have been done to investigate teachers’ motivational strategies use (cheng & d?rnyei, 2007; d?rnyei & csizer, 1998; green, 2001, guilloteaux & d?...

Nuclear PDFs from neutrino deep inelastic scattering

We study nuclear effects in charged current deep inelastic neutrino–iron scattering in the framework of a χ-analysis of parton distribution functions. We extract a set of iron PDFs and show that under reasonable assumptions it is possible to constrain the valence, light sea and strange quark distributions. We compare our results with nuclear parton distribution functions from the literature and...
